लीड्समध्ये पहिला मराठी सिनेमा फास्टर फेणे दिनांक ०३ डिसेम्बर २०१७ रोजी हाईड पार्क पिक्चर हाउसमध्ये दाखवण्यात आला.
साखर खाल्लेला माणूस २०१७
लीड्समध्ये पहिलं व्यावसायिक मराठी नाटक "साखर खाल्लेला माणूस" दिनांक ३० जून २०१७ रोजी आयोजित केलं होत. १७५ लोकांच्या उपस्थितीत या नाटकाचा प्रयोग बॅटली टाउन हॉल येथे पार पडला. प्रशांत दामले, शुभांगी गोखले, संकर्षण कऱ्हाडे आणि ऋचा आपटे या कलाकारांनी हा प्रयोग सादर केला. प्रचंड हशा आणि टाळ्यांच्या आवाजात प्रेक्षकांनी या नाटकाचा आनंद घेतला.

१४ जानेवारी २०१७ रोजी मंडळाला एक वर्ष पूर्ण झाले. त्यानिमित्त शास्त्रीय नृत्य, सुगम संगीत, भावगीत, कविता वाचन, भारूड असा रंगारंग कार्यक्रम सादर केला.

१५ ऑक्टोबर २०१६ रोजी मंडळाने कोजागिरी पौर्णिमा साजरी केली. या वेळी लहान मुलांचे विविध खेळ आणि गाण्यांची अंताक्षरी असा धमाकेदार कार्यक्रम केला.

गेली काही वर्ष गप्पा मारताना नेहमी म्हणायचो की, लीड्समध्ये आपण सुद्धा एखादा कार्यक्रम करायला हवा. काही दिवसांनी समजला की खरच लोकांना लीड्समध्ये मराठी कार्यक्रम व्हायला हवे आहेत, हे समजल्यावर जरा हुरूप आला आणि सर्व गोष्टींना रूप यायला सुरवात झाली त्यातूनच लीड्स मराठी मित्र मंडळ नावाचा छोटा ग्रुप तयार झाला. दिनांक १६-जानेवारी २०१६ रोजी मकर संक्रांतीच्या निमित्ताने हळदी-कुंकवाचा पहिला कार्यक्रम आयोजित करण्यात आला. त्या दिवशी लोकांमधील कलागुणांची ओळख झाली आणि मंडळाची वाटचाल पुढे सुरु झाली

सरत्या वर्षाला निरोप देऊन चैत्र शुद्ध प्रतिपदा येते.. सर्वांगानी नव्याची नवलाई घेऊन नववर्षाचा पहिला दिवस म्हणून चैत्र प्रतिपदा साजरी केली जाते ती गुढी पाडवा या नावाने. धार्मिक, सांस्कृतिक आणि सामाजिक दृष्टीने या दिवसाला महत्वाचे स्थान आहे. आज गरज आहे काळाच्या गरजेनुसार नवनवे संकल्प करण्याची. नवनव्या संकल्पांच्या गुढ्या उभारूया, आणि संकल्प करूया परदेशातही आपली मराठी संस्कृती जपण्याचा.

Great to see so many talents on stage and connected to the Marathi culture. Great to be part of the one year celebration and Sankranti. Thanks to Shailesh, Santhanu family and others who made the function possible with their hard work. Food was delicious.
